Microsoft SQL Server is a relational database management system (RDBMS) that supports a wide variety of transaction processing, business intelligence and analytics applications in corporate IT atmospheres. Microsoft SQL Server is among the 3 market-leading database technologies, together with Oracle Database and IBM’s DB2. Like other RDBMS software program, Microsoft SQL Server is built on top of SQL, a standardized programming language that database managers (DBAs) and other IT experts use to take care of databases and query the data they contain. SQL Server is tied to Transact-SQL (T-SQL), an application of SQL from Microsoft that adds a set of exclusive programming expansions to the standard language.

Microsoft offers SQL Server in four primary editions that provide different levels of the bundled services. Two are available cost free: a full-featured Developer edition for use in database development and testing, and an Express edition that can be utilized to run small databases with up to 10 GB of disk storage capacity. For larger applications, Microsoft sells an Enterprise edition that includes every one of SQL Server’s features, along with a Standard one with a partial feature set and limits on the number of processor cores and memory sizes that users can configure in their database web servers.

Like other RDBMS technologies, SQL Server is largely built around a row-based table framework that connects related data aspects in different tables to each other, avoiding the requirement to redundantly keep data in multiple locations within a database. Office Suite Licenses provides referential integrity and other integrity constraints to maintain data precision. Those checks become part of a broader adherence to the principles of atomicity, consistency, seclusion and resilience, collectively called the ACID properties, and are designed to guarantee that database deals are refined reliably.

MS SQL Server is a relational database management system (RDBMS) developed by Microsoft. This product is built for the basic function of saving fetching data as required by other applications. It can be run either on the exact same computer or on another across a network. This tutorial explains some basic and advanced concepts of SQL Server such as exactly how to create and restore data, create login and back-up, assign permissions, and so on. Each topic is explained using examples for very easy understanding.

SQL Server has four primary editions that have different bundled services and tools. Two editions are available cost free: SQL Server Developer edition for use in database development and testing. SQL Server Expression for small databases with the dimension of up to 10 GB of disk storage capacity. For larger and more vital applications, SQL Server offers the Enterprise edition that includes all SQL Server’s features. SQL Server Standard Edition has partial feature sets of the Enterprise Edition and limits on the Server regarding the numbers of processor core and memory that can be configured.

Microsoft also bundles a variety of data management, business intelligence (BI) and analytics tools with SQL Server. Along with the R Services and currently Machine Learning Services technology that initially appeared in SQL Server 2016, the data analysis offerings consist of SQL Server Analysis Services, an analytical engine that refines data for use in BI and data visualization applications, and SQL Server Reporting Services, which supports the production and distribution of BI reports.
